Half way through Spring Break, we switched hotels and landed in Đà Nẵng, about 40 minutes from Hội An. We did not plan much for Đà Nẵng. We knew we were staying at a large beach from hotel (the Grand Sheraton) with an expansive pool, kids club, and kiddie water park. We thought it might be best to relax. We did plan one excursion, to Golden Bridge.

Golden Bridge is located at the top of Bà Nà hills. On a clear day, you will get a gorgeous view of the surrounding valleys. We had a foggy day and could not see much, but loved the way the fog looked at the top, in the hands’ grasp. Golden Bridge is run by a mega conglomerate, Sun Group, which invests in and manages various destination attractions (water parks, etc) within Vietnam. The bridge is Instagram famous and you can see why. A cable car will take you to the top. The cable car has the longest expanse of suspension wire in the world. At the top there are various shops and restaurants set within a faux French village. The kids enjoyed the cable car and the “hot dogs on a stick” (xúc xích). We enjoyed the wine and 333 (ba ba ba) beer (bia).
