This weekend we went to Bangkok’s newest attraction, Dinosaur Planet. Dinosaur Planet is located in Sukhumvit between soi 22 and 23 in what is known as “Em District” after the nearby luxury shopping mall, EmQuartier.

Tickets were 600 baht/17USD (adult) and 400 baht/11USD (child) to get in. Children under 90 cm (about the size of one Jacky Bee) were free. There was a promotion for opening weekend and ticket prices were reduced by 90 baht. Tickets to get on any of the rides were an additional 200 baht. So, it’s pretty pricey-especially by Bangkok standards.

The park currently has two rides: Dino Eye and Dino Ride – with more set to open later in the spring. There are also live shows – but we didn’t stick around for any of these (we had heard that they are offered only in Thai). It was pretty crowded because it was opening weekend…and because, well, this is Bangkok.

The big highlight of the park was the life-sized robot dinosaurs. The website says there are 200. We didn’t quite see 200 but we saw quite a few and they are pretty impressive (especially to a toddler). Sam was ecstatic that he got to see Spinosaurus and T-Rex. When we started to leave Jack started screaming “noooo, see more dinosaurs!” So, it’s safe to say both boys gave Dinosaur Planet two big thumbs-up (and Anna didn’t complain either).

If you decide to go to Dinosaur Planet, I would:
- Be prepared for the heat-there isn’t much shade.
- Be prepared for crowds-lots of adults taking selfies of themselves in front of dinosaurs.
- Be prepared for long lines.
We had a really good time and would recommend a trip. If you have a dinosaur obsessed child (as we do) then it’s a must.
