We finished!
Things you might not realize about running a race in Thailand:
1. There will be no port-a-potties the entire 13.1 mile route.
2. There will be soda at the water stops…help yourself!
3. Instead giving away food, jelly beans or gel at the half way point…you get a weird neon rubber band bracelet thing?
4. You will sweat so much it will feel like you were running in your swim suit…for 13 miles.
5. You may encounter random guardrails in the middle of your route. Just follow everyone else and jump over it.
But really Chad and I are just happy we finished! I wasn’t sure I would be able to run today. I hurt my foot pretty badly racing Sammy in the park a couple of weeks ago and had to take some time off. Waking up at 3 am on a Sunday is not fun. But we had a great workout in by 7 am!
This was Anna Lynn’s second half-marathon. She has run all over the world now: from Grand Teton to Thailand! The last half-marathon Anna and I ran, we ran with Sam in our BOB stroller. So, this time was much easier. I think it was a pregnancy PR!
